Residential Electronics and Paper Recycling Event
Event details : VA/DC/MD residents (no businesses) can bring any/all electronics, “anything that plugs in”; no light bulbs or alkaline batteries. Turtle Wings personnel will be available to help unload cars. Turtle Wings can help remove and destroy hard drives on-site. Office Shredders will be available to shred any paper documents on site.

Cost: All electronics are free except for the following; $10 for a monitor, TV under 19” or laptop; $20 for TV’s or monitors over 19”; $30 for console TV’s or TV’s over 32”. Hard drive crushing/shredding services fees vary by location and service level required. Paper shredding is free. Cash only please.

Business/Multi-Family Recycling – the City of Alexandria is suspending all commercial recycling collection services as of July 1st, 2008. Businesses and Multi-Family properties are required to implement a comprehensive recycling program, and file a Recycling Implementation Plan (RIP) form with the city.

The City has made curbside recycling easier than ever with the introduction of Single Stream Recycling for Alexandria residents. Learn more about the details and benefits of Single Stream Recycling.
Bikes for the World
Bring your unwanted or repairable bikes to the Bikes for the World collection event on Saturday, April 26th, at Trinity United Methodist Church, 2911 Cameron Mills Rd, from 9am - 12pm. Your bikes will provide transportation for families, entrepreneurs, doctors and others in many third world countries as opposed to taking up space in your storage area or a landfill.
